The name 'herringbone floor' may not sound very attractive, but an oak herringbone floor looks really beautiful. The herringbone floorboards are sawn diagonally at the end and laid against each other at an angle of 90 degrees, creating the herringbone pattern.
All herringbone floors from Uipkes are made from sustainable European oak. Oak wood offers several advantages:
- The wood has a timeless character
- Oak can take a beating
- There are many options in terms of finishing
- Oak wood and underfloor heating go well together
Due to the many possibilities of oak herringbone floors, they match almost every interior style.
VARIANTS OF THE HERRINGBONE PATTERN
It is possible to give a twist to the herringbone pattern, for example by choosing a double herringbone or triple herringbone. You can also turn the herringbone pattern a quarter turn to create an elbow pattern.
Oak herringbone floors in 90 exclusive colours
Our oak herringbone floors can be finished in 90 exclusive colours. Is the color you are looking for not listed? No problem, we can make a custom color especially for you.
If the chosen color is no longer to your liking in the future, it is possible to sand the oak herringbone floor and finish it in a different colour. A Uipkes herringbone floor can therefore last for decades, even if your taste changes.

Oak herringbone parquet with underfloor heating
An oak herringbone floor can be laid with solid wooden floorboards or with parquet flooring. At Uipkes we always opt for parquet flooring. Oak parquet is namely suitable for underfloor heating, solid wood floorboards are not. This is because solid wood can shrink and expand due to temperature differences.
Parquet flooring is made of a bottom layer of cross-glued waterproof birch plywood, topped with a top layer of solid oak. The underlay ensures that the parquet flooring barely 'works' or shrinks and expands. The effect is so minimal that it is even possible to lay the floorboards tightly against the wall without skirting boards.
Install underfloor heating
At Uipkes we have years of experience in laying oak parquet on underfloor heating.
If desired, we can also arrange the installation of underfloor heating for you, so that you have only one point of contact for the entire project.

The main difference between these two floor types is the pattern in which the planks are laid. With a herringbone floor, the planks are laid at an angle of 90 degrees to each other, while with a Hungarian point floor, the planks are laid at an angle of 45 or 60 degrees.
